About the Artist

My name is Leandra Walters. I have been interested in dinosaurs and art my whole life. My main interest is theropod dinosaurs, with particular focus on their forelimb anatomy, integument, and behavior. I am especially interested in Carcharodontosaurids, Allosaurids, Megaraptorans (and other tyrannosauroids and -ids), and Maniraptorans.

I am a paleoartist / paleontographer with a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences. I attempt to stay up to date on the paleontological literature (especially as it relates to theropod dinosaurs) as much as possible. I aim to draw accurate and realistic dinosaurs in lifelike settings. I know that I still have a ways to go as an artist, and it is my hope that this website will show my progression as time goes on.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. I also openly accept constructive criticism! After all, I value the input of scientists who actually work with the fossils, which as of this writing I am not fortunate enough to be able to do. (I’m still uncertain of my future, career-wise. Right now art is my hobby with the bonus of giving me a little extra income.)

I can also illustrate for you, if you would like me to. Contact me about prices. We can work on a flat rate or I can work on an hourly basis. Note that due to my full time job I may not be able to accept your request, but I encourage those who are interested to contact me. You can also contact me with any questions you may have.

Thanks for looking!
